Parent Newsletter
March 2023
Dear Parents or Guardians,
I hope this message finds you well. As we enter the month of March, I would like to take this opportunity to share with you the exciting events and activities that are happening in our school.
We believe that education is not just about academics but also about providing a holistic learning experience that prepares students for life. With this in mind, we have planned a series of events and activities that will not only enrich your child's academic experience but also provide them with the opportunity to explore their passions and talents.
Our Virtual Parent-Teacher Conferences, scheduled for Thursday, March 9 is an excellent opportunity for you to connect with your child's teacher and find out how your child is progressing in school. We encourage you to take this opportunity to engage in open communication and discuss ways to support your child's social-emotional and academic journey.
On Thursday, March 10th, at 9:30 a.m., we will be holding a PLC Workshop "Tips for establishing home routines that promote academic and social-emotional development in kids". Our Parent Association Meeting on Tuesday, March 14th, at 4:30 p.m., is an excellent opportunity to connect with other parents and learn about ways to get involved in school activities. We also have Graduation and Moving-Up Picture Day on Thursday, March 17th, and Coffee with the Principal will be held on Friday, March 20th at 8:15 a.m. These events are an excellent opportunity for students and parents alike to engage with the school community and build meaningful connections.
As we move forward, we want to remind you that your child's education is an ongoing process of learning, growing, and evolving. We encourage you to keep the lines of communication open with your child's teachers and be actively involved in their education.
We believe that with the right support and guidance, every child has the potential to achieve greatness. Together, let's inspire our children to reach their full potential and make a positive impact on the world.
Thank you for your support and participation in our school events and activities. We look forward to seeing you at the Parent-Teacher conferences.
Warm regards,
Happy Month of March!

Reminders
ID- To ensure the safety of children, and as per DOE regulation, any parent who wishes to enter the school must present an NYS valid photo ID. Visitors are not required to show proof of vaccination before entering the school building.
School Uniform- your child must come to school Every Single Day wearing the uniform: burgundy top and navy blue pants/shirts.
COVID-19 testing- Every month, all staff and students will be given four at-home rapid tests. If a student or staff member is exposed to COVID-19, two additional tests will be provided so that staff and students can test once on the fourth and fifth days after exposure. The school's protocols for students experiencing COVID-like symptoms have not changed. Additional rapid tests will be administered to those employees and students. According to the CDC, schools should no longer administer routine COVID-19 testing to asymptomatic or unexposed students. As a result, there will be no weekly in-school random PCR testing this year.
Daily screenings discontinued- Daily screenings for students, staff, and visitors will no longer be required.
Masks- will continue to be optional for students and faculty at all grade levels. Only the following situations necessitate the use of a mask: When returning to school (or riding a school bus) on the sixth day after testing positive for COVID-19 through the tenth day after symptom onset or the date of a positive test, whichever comes first. When entering a school's medical room, school nurse's office, or a school-based health center. When exhibiting COVID-19 symptoms at school. Masks will continue to be available in schools upon request. Schools will always have a 30-day supply on hand.
Terrific Tuesday | Parental Engagement- Terrific Tuesday takes place every Tuesday from 2:20 PM until 3:00 PM. Please contact the teacher of your child to schedule a meeting to keep yourself informed regarding the social-emotional and academic progress of your child.
Lost & Found- If your child losses an item, please check the lost & found, located inside the Auditorium. Unclaimed items will be donated to the Salvation Army.
