Dear PS 192 Families and Community,

We are excited to share some important news and upcoming events from the NYC Department of Education that will benefit our elementary school community:

  1. Summer Enrichment Programs:

    • Registration Open: The NYC DOE has opened registration for summer enrichment programs. These programs offer a wide range of activities including STEM, arts, sports, and academic support. It's a fantastic opportunity for students to continue learning and growing over the summer break.
    • How to Register: Visit the NYC DOE website or contact our school office for more information on how to enroll your child.
  2. Parent Workshops:

    • Digital Literacy: A series of workshops will be held to help parents understand and manage their children's use of technology. Topics include online safety, educational apps, and managing screen time.
    • Dates and Times: Workshops will be held virtually every Wednesday at 6 PM throughout the month of July. Check your email for the Zoom link and further details.
  3. Community Health Initiatives:

    • Free Health Screenings: In partnership with local health organizations, the NYC DOE is offering free health screenings for students. These include vision, dental, and general health check-ups.
    • Schedule: Screenings will take place at designated community centers. Contact our school nurse for the schedule and more information.
  4. School Safety Updates:

    • Enhanced Safety Measures: The NYC DOE is implementing new safety measures in all elementary schools to ensure a safe and secure environment for our students. These include updated entry protocols and additional training for staff.
    • Information Session: Join us for a virtual information session on July 15th at 7 PM to learn more about these changes and ask any questions you may have.
  5. Back-to-School Preparations:

    • Supply Lists: The updated school supply lists for the upcoming school year are now available on our school website. Ensure your child is prepared for a successful start to the new academic year.
